At Starting Line Counseling and Consulting, I believe in being transparent about financial policies. Discussing finances in the context of mental health can be complicated, so I've made it our priority to be upfront and direct.
As outlined in the financial agreement, the card on file will be charged at the start of each session to take care of your balance, including fees for late cancellations and missed appointments. Unexpected circumstances can arise, missed appointments and late cancellations not only impact Starting Line Counseling and Consulting financially, but also means an opportunity was missed to help another client during that same time.

The No Surprises Act was signed into federal law in December 2020 in order to give patients all the financial information up front before working with a doctor or organization that would not be on their insurance plan. Starting Line Counseling and Consulting agrees that all financial investments by clients should be agreed upon by both counselor and client prior to beginning sessions. Please review intake paperwork closely regarding fees.
Each client is different and each client can expect a different length of treatment. However, if a client sees an LPC for an intake and then 51 follow up appointments (once a week for one year) a good faith estimate would be $10,425. If a client sees an LPC-Associate for an intake and then 51 follow up appointments (once a week for one year) a good faith estimate would be $7,035. These Good Faith Estimates does not include any unknown or unexpected costs that may arise during treatment. You could be charged more if complications or special circumstances occur.

In addition to traditional individual therapy, I also offer a custom concierge model, which provides clients with additional support and personalized services. This model allows clients to have greater flexibility and access to their therapist, with phone, or video sessions.
Furthermore, the custom concierge model also allows for additional support services tailored to each client's individual needs. This may include collaboration with other healthcare providers, and assistance in scheduling appointments.
Through this personalized approach, I strive to provide clients with a comprehensive and individualized treatment experience that meets their unique needs and preferences. My goal is to help clients achieve meaningful and lasting change, while providing a high level of care and support throughout their therapeutic journey.

Why Cash pay?
Cash pay services allow for more flexibility and control over treatment decisions, without being subject to insurance limitations or requirements.
Insurance companies often impose strict criteria for diagnoses and treatment, which can lead to clinicians being forced to use standardized or brief treatment approaches that may not be optimal for a particular client.
Cash pay services can provide more privacy and confidentiality for clients, since insurance companies often require a diagnosis and other personal information to be shared in order to approve treatment.
Cash pay services may be more cost-effective for clients who don't have insurance or who have high-deductible plans, since they can often negotiate lower rates and avoid costly copays or coinsurance payments.
Cash pay services can allow for more continuity of care, since clients don't have to switch providers or treatment settings if their insurance changes or coverage is terminated.
Avoiding potential insurance issues: Receiving a mental health diagnosis through insurance may potentially impact eligibility for life insurance or result in higher premiums.
At Starting Line Counseling, a super-bill is provided at the end of each month. This is a document that contains all the necessary information about the therapy services you have received, including the date, type of service, and the amount charged. It also includes the therapist's credentials and the appropriate diagnostic codes. The superbill is a useful tool for clients who are paying out of pocket for therapy services, as it allows them to submit the bill to their insurance company for a partial refund on services. With a superbill, clients can obtain reimbursement directly from their insurance company, as long as their insurance policy covers mental health services.
